New Golden Lobes podcast awards to celebrate the funniest pods

Open up your ear canals, it’s time for some new audio delights: there’s a brand new award in town. 

The Golden Lobes has launched, created by the people behind the Cheerful Earful podcast festival, which takes over The Bedford pub in Balham every October. And guess who is an official media partner for this new award? LMAOnaise!

Entry is now open to the awards, which is on a mission to find the funniest podcasts out there right now. Anyone can enter, and it all culminates in an awards ceremony at the Clapham Grand on May 7th. 

Here are all the categories:

1. Best Blooper – Hilarious moments that didn’t make the final cut.

2. Best Tangent – Off-topic rants and digressions that stole the show.

3. Grower, Not a Shower, supported by Mercury - Indie podcasts that started small but grew big.

4. Best Social, supported by Podshop – Podcasts with the best viral and meme-worthy moments.

5. Funniest Student Podcast, supported by LMAOnaise – Recognising the next generation of comedy talent.

6. Best Guest – A guest who made a huge impact, regardless of celebrity status.

7. Best Listener Moment, supported by Audio UK – Unforgettable call-ins, confessions, or emails.

8. Earworm Award – The catchiest, funniest theme tune or jingle.

9. Best Live Podcast, supported by PodLife Events – Celebrating podcasts that shine in front of live audiences.

10. Best Scripted Show, supported by Podomedy – Honouring comedy podcasts where writing leads the way.

11. Best Artwork, supported by Louie Hayman Design– Podcast covers that grab attention and stand out.

12. The Listener Lobe, supported by Adelicious – The fan-favourite award, where the public has their say.

13. The Big Ears Award, supported by Adelicious – The funniest podcast of the year.
